Description

Historic view of the Red Wing Shoe factory in Red Wing, Minnesota, from the 1950s. a main street shoe merchant called Charles Beckman spotted a demand for comfortable, durable work boots yet there was no supply. So in 1905, he set up Red Wing Shoe Company, taking its name and logo, by way of a commemorative gesture, from a Native American called Red Wing, the leader of the original inhabitants of the upper Mississippi River territory.

Red Wing is a city on the Mississippi River in Goodhue County on US Highway 61 with a population of 16,459 at the 2010 census.

A bit of history, fantastic for dropping friends or family a note the old-fashioned way, and makes a great gift! This is a reproduction of the original 1925 postcard. Postcard image from LakesnWoods.com.
