About the Author:
Mary DesJarlais accomplished it all in the Midwest. Born, educated, twice married, twice widowed, she raised two lively daughters, survived a breast cancer siege, and launched a career as a fiction writer with her first novel, Dorie LaValle, published in 2011. Calumet Editions of Minneapolis re-released that novel in 2017 and her second novel, The Cutter’s Widow, a story of survival, grief and an adoption business gone awry, was released in 2018. Mary credits the Blue Moon Writing Group for helping her push forward to complete her first novel and the warm encouragement from writer/professor, Jonis Agee. Mary currently lives in Saint Paul. She hates winter but enjoys travel, reading, red wine or a crisp martini and shoes.
